Alex Peter, a 20 years old, has been charged to a magistrate court in Osogbo Osun State for thieft. He was Caught at Oroki Housing Estate, in Osogbo, at exactly five o’clock on Tuesday evening of May 3rd this year. According to the government officer, Abiodun fagboyinbo, Alex Peter was caught after he attempted to steal four tins of milk, one congo of beans, 6 packs of spagheti, a packet of maggi and a bag of semovita from the shop of one Mrs. Ronke Adesiyan which all the goods amount to seven thousand naira Mr Fagboyinbo said what Peter did has a penalty in Osun State constitution. According to Peter, he explained that he came to Osogbo on a visit from Ore Ondo State to see her sister in Osogbo, but unfortunately he couldn’t reach his sister on phone and he didn’t know her address. He further stated that he enterered Mrs. Ronke’s shop when he started feeling hungry and didn’t have anything to feed on. Mrs Ronke, the owner of the shop said Peter entered the shop in disguised to buy those goods but they were supprised when he picked up the race after everything has been packaged for him. The defendant then appealed to the court to release the accused Judge Adeyeba of the magistrate court of Osun State thereby cancelled the case and warned the accused not to commit such offence again.
